Milky Way Ski Map
The Milky Way ski map (also known as Via Lattea) and ski area combines 7 resorts in Italy, including Sauze d’Oulx, Sestriere, Claviere, Pragelato, Sansicario, Cesana and Montgenevre in France. Offering 400km of slopes to explore, over 80 lifts and draglifts there is so much to explore.
The 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin were held at the cross-border ski resort of Via Lattea (Milky Way).

Milky Way Accommodation
Via Lattea offers a diverse ski map, a range of towns, ski runs and so to accommodation to explore. There are older villages such as Oulx and Cesana with a certain charm. Compared to the purpose built ski resorts such as Sansicario or Sauze d’Oulx, which provide greater convenience, a slightly livelier apés but aren’t going to blow you aware with quaint aesthetics.
Sestriere offers one of Italy’s highest resorts and plenty of purpose built hotels to choose from and plenty of amenities to keep you busy, as well as more than enough restaurants and bars.
Accommodation in the Milky Way isn’t going to blow you away with high end 5 star luxury, but expect a comfortable stay and plenty of skiing to be had.
Alternatively, you can take a look at some the other larger Italian ski resorts, such as Courmayeur, Val Gardena or even La Thuile.
