With Christmas 2024 arriving within the next few days across the Alps there has already been significant snowfall. However over the next day or so large snowstorms set to hit the Alps will provide great Christmas Day conditions. Heavy snowfall is expected in various regions of the Alps – Sunday 23rd December into Monday 24th December.
With the storm having been approach the Alps from Saturday 21st December it will continue into Sunday 23rd and on into 24th. Almost snowfall can be expected across much of the Alps this particular snowstorm hitting the Alps will be provide dense snowfall in the Western Alps.
Areas that can expect to see heavy snowfall include various resorts in France, Switzerland and parts of Austria.
Resorts in France can potentially see around half a metre of snow fall over the course of Sunday and Monday, most notably the resorts below. But, the snowstorm set to hit the Alps will provide snowfall for much of France and at importantly at low levels with freezing during the day reaching around 1,500m and overnight around 500m.
Austria, particularly the westerly ski resort of St Anton, general ski region of Ski Arlberg, including resorts such as Lech can expect the majority of snow spread over the course of Sunday and Monday. Expecting around 50cm to have fallen by Tuesday 24th Morning.
Lastly, Switzerland. Plenty of of resorts will be pleasantly impacted by the Snowstorms Set To Hit The Alps such as Adelboden, Films – Laax, Morgins and Wengen, The popular Swiss towns of Zermatt and Saas Fee will also see snow like must of Switzerland, but less so.
