Turkey isn’t the first place you’d expect there to be a ski resort with the very hot and long summers they have. However where there are some hills or mountains and some snow, expect there to be a ski resort – this is no different for Turkey.
Skiing in Turkey is a unique experience that surprisingly combines reliable snow, mountain scenery and a fascinating mixture of European and Middle Eastern culture. Of course, not as famous as the Alps or even the Pyrenees, but Turkey’s ski resorts are becoming increasingly popular, with good infrastructure, affordable prices, and unique atmosphere.

Erciyes – Kayser
Erciyes – Kayser is located in the Central Anatolia Region. Sitting on the slopes of a dormant volcano and with one of the country’s most modern lift systems. There are just over 55km of slopes to explore, serviced by 14 lifts and at impressive heights ranging from just over 2,000m to just below 3,500m.
Palandöken (Ejder 3200 World Ski Center)
Palandöken (Ejder 3200 World Ski Center) is located in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Near Erzurum in eastern Turkey.
Over 40km of slopes to explore with 13 lifts, reaching heights up over 3,000m. Palandöken boasts some of the longest and highest runs in the country. Excellent snow quality, minimal crowds and great value for money. It’s also happens to be a former Winter Universiade and European Youth Olympic Festival venue.

Skiing Accommodation in Turkey
With smaller resorts and unique skiing locations such as Turkey, accommodation is slightly different to what you may expect in France for instance.
At Erciyes for example, near the city of Kayseri, accommodation has grown in recent years. Visitors can choose between ski hotels at the mountain base, to stylish city hotels in nearby Kayseri.
