Uniquely. Zermatt is a car-free resort, similar to Avoriaz in France. adding to its peaceful alpine charm and atmosphere. Visitors must travel through its charming village by electric taxis, horse-drawn carriages, or on foot.

Zermatt accommodation is typically Swizz, known for its exclusivity, charm and breath-taking views of the Matterhorn. Offering a wide range of fantastic five star hotels, apartments, elegant chalets and mountain lodges. Something for everyone in a unique car free setting.

However, similar to many other Swiss resorts, Zermatt doesn’t come cheap. Switzerland is a relatively expensive country, with high wages and a strong currency. Booking in advance may help, but costs may surprise you when comparing to neighbouring France or Italy.
