Sälen

Sälen Ski Maps

The Sälen ski map and resort is one of Sweden’s largest and most popular ski resorts. Located in the Dalarna region near the Norwegian border and made up of several interconnected ski areas makes for spectacular exploring, with easy connections.

Sälen’s interconnected ski resorts are made up of Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen, and Hundfjället. Providing a total of over 100 slopes.

Resorts and ski runs aren’t the highest, but when you’re this far north it doesn’t matter too much during the depths of winter. Elevations range from around 350–900 meters above sea level. Proximity, combined with snowmaking make for a long winter season typically from November to April.

Particularly known for its family-friendly vibe. Wide, gentle runs, excellent ski schools, and plenty of activities for children. However, that being said, Salen does have facilities for the more advanced skiers, snow parks, off-piste areas and difficult black runs to test your abilities on such as the “The Wall” in Hundfjället.

Cross-country skiing is also very popular in the Nordic countries such as Sweden, with Salen no different and many kilometres to explore in the local area. Salen’s also the starting point of the famous Vasaloppet, the world’s oldest and largest cross-country ski race.
