Cardrona Ski Map
The Cardrona ski map and alpine resort in New Zealand is one of the most popular and well-rounded ski areas on the South Island. Located between Wānaka and Queenstown, Cardrona offers a great mix of terrain, infrastructure and snow-sport culture.
Elevations reach just short of 1,900 metres, starting at around 1,260 metres and is seen as relatively accessible for all. Welcoming, challenging runs, park terrain and a healthy amount of beginner and intermediate runs attract many snow sport enthusiasts. Approximately 45 kilometres of skiing is available, with new lifts opening for the 2025/2026 season, combined with relatively high elevations and snowmaking infrastructure provide a relatively consistent season which is around June to October time.
With ski schools, nursery slop zones, wide open bowls, advanced parks, freestyle facilities of their half-pipe and more, make the Cardrona piste map great fun to explore and provide something for everyone. Not forgetting plenty of modern amenities, base area cafés and ski rental facilities.

Accommodation in Cardrona
The Cardrona accommodation isn’t plentiful but there’s enough and towns nearby to suit everyone. Cardrona valley cabins or ski-field lodges are available for convenience, near the slopes. Self-catering cabins, apartments and holiday homes in the Cardrona valley are perfect for larger groups and families with their wide range of amenities.
Wānaka is an approximately 35-45 minutes’ drive from Cardrona, it’s a very popular base for many skiers. Alternatively, Queenstown is around 60 minutes’ drive from Cardrona. Many people choice to stay here for nightlife, dining and a wider range of accommodation.
