Zugspitze Ski Map

Home to Germany’s only glacier resort the Zugspitze ski area sits way above the town of Grainau as well as Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Ideal for high altitude skiing with skiing over 2,000 metres, making for a particularly long season too opening in December right up until May, weather dependant. Albeit not the largest ski area in Germany, which is held by Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal.

There’s plenty of snowboard or skiing to be explored with 20 kilometres of slopes available, serviced by 10 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 2,000 and 2,720m.

There’s a large choice of Zugspitze accommodation however it’s worth noting that that the accommodation can be found in the summit ski town of Grainau, or within the adjoining ski resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Both provide easy access to the summit of Zugspitze.
