The Sestriere ski map and resort is one of Italy’s most iconic ski resorts. Offering high-altitude reliability, a vast connected ski area being in Milky Way and a lively, international atmosphere. Situated in the Piedmont region near the French border.

Sestriere sit at 2,035 metres, making it one of the highest towns in the Alps and one of the most snow-sure resorts in Italy. Via Lettea (Milky Way), including Sestriere offers an absolutely massive 400 kilometres of slopes, 69 lifts and elevations ranging from 1,372 to 2,789m.

Famous for hosting Alpine skiing events during the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, many of its pistes, including the famous Kandahar Banchetta, remain favourites for expert skiers. Race-ready slopes and high-quality infrastructure continue to make it a training base for professional teams.

Thanks to its altitude and north-facing slopes, the Sestriere piste map enjoys a long, reliable season from late November into April. Benefiting from extensive snow making too, ensuring consistent coverage throughout the season. Modern lift system efficiently connects skiers to the wider Via Lattea, making it easy to explore multiple resorts in a single day and allowing you to reach huge elevations from approximately 1500 – 2800 metres.

Accommodation in Sestriere

The village has a distinct look, mixing traditional alpine chalets with the iconic cylindrical hotel towers built by Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli in the 1930s. Although purpose-built, Sestriere has a lively and friendly feel, with a good selection of: Restaurants and pizzerias, Bars and après-ski spots, Shops and ski rental centres

Sestriere accommodation is largely centred on apartment-style accommodation, many originally built for the 2006 Winter Olympics. The complex known as Villaggio Olimpico, for example. There are a range of hotels too, ranging from 3-star to more premium 4 and star options.

Staying in the main village gives you easy access to shops, restaurants, ski services, and lifts. Ideal if you want convenience, nightlife and to avoid driving. If you prefer a more relaxed, slower pace, there are options slightly outside the main resort area or in nearby.
