Kitzbühel is one of Austria’s most prestigious and historic ski resorts. Renowned for its medieval charm, luxurious atmosphere and world-class skiing. Located in the Tyrol region, between Salzburg and Innsbruck, Kitzbühel piste map and resort blends tradition, glamour and extensive terrain, making it a favourite among both keen skiers and winter holidaymakers.

Firstly, there are some that will definitely argue this is where skiing was ‘invented’. But what is true is that Kitzbuhel provides almost 200 kilometres of slopes to explore, over 50 ski lifts and elevations reaching 2,000m.

Hosting regular ski races since 1895, being home to the Streif, one of the most famous international races in the Winter World Cup, the Hahnenkamm World Cup race copious amounts of luxury hotels and beautiful restaurants, Kitzbuhel is definitely one Austrian ski resort to visit at least once.

One of Kitzbühel’s greatest attractions is its beautiful old town, which feels more like a postcard alpine village than a purpose-built ski resort. Pastel-coloured buildings, cobbled streets, stylish shops and cosy cafés give the town a warm and romantic atmosphere. Expect to find boutique stores with designer brands, traditional Austrian restaurants, upscale bars and sophisticated après-ski, a historic 14th-century church and even Horse-drawn carriage rides.

So Kitzbuhel definitely has an air of luxury about it, boutique stores, lovely accommodation, bars and restaurants, Kitzbuhel provides just what you need. But being the most well known town in the area this brings its own difficulties, being more popular and busier.

Whereas the towns on the edges are more likely to be easier to find accommodation. Instead you can look at Kirchberg or Jochberg, found in the KitzSki resort and provides access to Kitzbuhel.
