Steinplatte Ski Map
The Steinplatte-Waidring ski resort, sometimes referred to as Steinplatte Winklmoosalm. However often just called the Steinplatte ski map. Is a charming area located in the Salzburg region of Austria. Straddling the border with Bavaria (Germany) it’s a favourite among families and intermediate skiers. With beautiful views, gentle terrain, and laid-back atmosphere.
Over 40 kilometres of slopes are to be explored. With modern chairlifts and gondolas whisking you around heights starting from approximately 740 metres to over 1,800 metres. Because of this somewhat lower level, snow reliability can be missing, particularly in low snow winters. That being said, Steinplatte does generally have good natural snowfall. Nevertheless snowmaking facilities on the Steinplatte piste maps make for generally a ski season from December to April. Of course, weather depending.
Not as big as some of the other Austria ski resorts, or others around the Alps doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. There are some other things to do in Steinplatte if skiing is not your thing, namely:
- Winter hiking
- Snowshoe trails
- Toboggan runs
- Mountain dining and restaurants
- Cross-country routes nearby
