Rusutsu Ski Map
The Rusutsu ski map and resort is located on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido. One of the country’s largest and most versatile ski destinations. Known for its exceptionally light, dry powder nicknamed “Japow”, vast terrain and impressive lift system. Rusutsu consistently ranks among Japan’s top resorts for both beginners and advanced powder seekers.
Rusutsu receives an huge amount of snowfall each winter. Which can often reach in around 12 – 14 metres. This is thanks to Siberian storm systems that sweep across the Sea of Japan. Resulting in the infamous fluffy “Japow” that skiers and snowboarders travel from all over the world to experience. Compared to its neighbour Niseko (approximately 40 minutes away), Rusutsu is quieter, less crowded and offers more untouched powder, especially in the trees.
With 42 kilometres of slopes to explore, a healthy mixture of runs with regards to difficulty and extremely low elevations, barely reaching 1,000 metres, Rusutsu is a beautiful resort. The West Mountain is typically best for beginners and lower intermediates providing wide, gentle slopes and great ski school facilities. The East Mountain can be seen as a paradise for intermediates, offering long, scenic forest runs. And lastly, Mount Isola , which is a favourite for advanced riders, featuring some of the resort’s longest runs, excellent tree skiing and deep powder.
