Kobla – Bohinj

Kobla – Bohinj Ski Map

The Kobla – Bohinj ski map and resort is an alpine area in north-western Slovenia. Situated above the town of Bohinjska Bistrica in the Julian Alps (Upper Carniola region). Located near Lake Bohinj, providing fantastic views of the surrounding mountains.

The piste map in Kobla previously was particularly large, by Slovenian standards. With over 20km of piste to explore and multiple lifts serving the area – including chair lifts. However, around 2011 the operator went into administrator and operations closed down.

Fortunately, thanks to EU backing of around €30 million and a partnership project led by a company called 2864 Bohinj – set up by a cable car manufacturer Leitner. The aim is to transform the dormant area into a sustainable, eco-friendly resort and bike park boasting the longest ski runs in Slovenia.
